I am not sure what type of bird they are, but they were very little; and gathering on this tree in group one afternoon. I was on my way to pick up my son from school when they swooped in. I took three quick shots, and had to go.
I can see that their bellies had a bit of yellow on the sides, but that was it! It was rainy and gray that day. I think they are finches, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I was just happy seeing any sort of livelihood around here.
Yes, just more gray days, more snow, more hawk photos in the neighbor tree! The dot you see in the center of the picture above is our regular hawk. He/she came back every other day around our area.
It is so boring and tiring looking at the snow, ice, and gray days! The sunshine sometimes can't be warm enough to melt the mountain of snow we have..Oh well, looking forward, looking forward, and that is all we can do!
“I went to the woods because I wished
to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see
if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die,
discover that I had not lived.”
For the first two days of February, I had a cardinal and a hawk visiting the backyard. It got warm up a little over the weekend during the day, and freeze the slush by evening. We had a sheet of ice running down the driveway.
