Question Mark Butterfly

Friday, July 25, 2014

I am looking up on Google for the identification of this butterfly since I didn't get to see the underside wings. Its wings are pretty tattered when it came landing on the wall of my house. It is either a Question Mark butterfly or an Eastern Comma butterfly.

It doesn't matter much to me though. These were my first photos of the butterfly this year so I am happy. Thanks to my son who pointed out to me when we were heading out for the day.

If my identification is wrong, please feel free to correct me! Learning is good for the soul. Have yourself a fantastic weekend.

  1. Nowadays we won't ask someone for an answer. Google will do.

  2. Gorgeous butterfly, the colors are pretty. Lovely shots! Thank you for linking up your post with my critter party. Enjoy your weekend!

  3. HI I think it is very good to ask questions and I find bloggers are only to willing to help. of course google is great but sometimes a human can be better! Now I never heard of a Question Mark as we do not have these in the UK so I went to look it up and I think you are correct is assuming that is what your butterfly is. The Comma appears to have more scalloped wings. Hope this help.

  4. Pretty butterfly.

  5. Tattered, but still so beautiful!

  6. Whichever it is, it's beautiful! I've noticed a lot of our butterflies have especially tattered wings this year. Odd. Have a great weekend!

  7. wow, what a gorgeous butterfly, looks like on fire, I still do not know how to sue google images to identify a specie.

  8. I have no idea what type it is, but I sure love the colors.
