Robin In the Snow Storm

Friday, March 14, 2014

We had another snow storm hit on Tuesday, school closed on Wednesday, but this robin was out and about. From the look on its face, I can say that it was confused when we suddenly got blasted with another 5-6 inches of snow.

I did tell this robin that it wasn't spring yet. The poor thing stood there for quite a while getting snow on.
It looked up; it looked down; it looked this way and that way trying to make sense of the pouring snow and the dropped in temperature. But it is only mid-March and we have at least another snow storm or two I believe.

  6. So cute! I understand the confusion. We're getting lots of snow now even though we had almost no snow at all during the winter.

  11. And who could blame him for being confused! Like most people and probably all the birds that are there he thought it was Spring. Poor robin..poor you ...I hope good weather returns soon.

  13. I hope he is able to still find food even with the snow. They don't eat seed so having a bird feeder doesn't help. Maybe you could put out some berries or meal worms for him. A lot of the migrating birds are arriving too soon ... at least too soon this year. Twas a time when they would be fine to be here now. Cute pictures ...

  17. I had the same experience, taking pictures of birds in the snow and freezing cold, and yet the birds were singing and chirping away. Clearly the birds know that spring is on its way - and I'll trust that they are correct! Beautiful photo and a sweet memory, too.

  18. Oh, I love this pic. Poor little guy-he has to be cold out there in all that snow. Tell him to be patient--Spring has to be around the corner. Mickie :)
