Bird Brain

Happening right in front of my eyes, this young robin flew right straight into the fence trying to follow her mom. she/he quickly realized that he/she got stuck too and looked back at me for me.

The mom was very near in the next yard, calling and encouraging. The young robin tried by spreading its wings, but they were not going through. It struggled for a while and I just watched helplessly not knowing what to do.

I took some photos and went inside to allow the mother to do her job in coaxing the youngster to get free. After a while yapping and screaming, the young robin managed to fall down on my side of the fence, and happily went away with his/her mother.

I think I would have been scared to death I would hurt the little thing trying to free it, Hope you were successful. I get so upset when they fly into our glass front door. Thanks for the visit.

Poor babies. Kind of rough going for them I'm glad you kept an eye on him until he was free.

You always have your camera ready....glad the little one managed to rejoin mama without suffering any permanent trauma other than a little wounded pride, perhaps.

My critter post is of dogs that attended my farewell gathering in San Francisco, a most lovely affair.
