Unknown Bird

Update: the majority of bloggers identified this bird as Female Redwing Blackbird! Thank you..

It stood there on the fence, looking at me as I walked out of the door. At first I thought it was a juvenile robin, but then I doubted it when I examined closer through my lens. The legs, for example, were much longer than the robin.

It is an unknown bird to me, but my birder bloggers should know what type of bird this was. I only saw it once, and didn't do a good job of photographing this bird. My brain didn't response fast enough in surprise situation.

Having two feeders put up giving me many chances to see different types of birds in the yard. It is messy, but the reward is priceless.

Some kind of sparrow? I really don't know for sure...but I love the head markings.
Hope someone can ID it for you.

I get some visitors to my lily pools, it is indeed rewarding in spite of the mess they create.
