Big Baby, Tiny Mama

This year we have many different baby birds around our neighborhood. This photo above is of a very loud baby bird which roamed in front of my door. I grabbed the camera and dashed outside to see what was making such sound.

After I took a couple of shots, I remember the video portion on my camera, and just quickly recording this big baby bird, which I can't tell what it is. I thought it was a baby robin, but when I saw the little mama feeding it, I was confused and not sure anymore.

Robin's Nest

Sitting and Waiting
This mama has been sitting on her nest watching the world goes by for a while now. She is quite smart to pick such a nice spot under the roof and on top of the rain pipe with clear view.

At times, I see two robins flying in and out of the nest taking turns guarding the eggs. It's a favorite spot for the robins, as every year there is a nest here. Lately, the nest has no activities and I don't see mama or daddy or babies around any more!

Gorgeous Northern Flicker

Gorgeous Bird
My beautiful visitor came back every other day to peck at the same spot. This time I learned to listen to his voice, and quietly came outside with my camera. I set my camera on mute so it wouldn't make a sound, but he sensed my being and gave me the look!

The Visitor In My Neighborhood

This is my beautiful visitor, a Northern Flicker. It has been a frequent guest in my neighborhood looking for insects between the cracks in the concrete slaps.

This handsome bird is quite shy; one tiny little noise stirs and he will take off. His eyes are always on alert. He has been around every other day, visiting different driveway and very busy pecking down into the crack.

Do you see how deep is beak down in the dirt? He is very determined and very furious with his work too. Have a wonderful week..

Adorable Little Bird

Come to my feeder is this adorable little bird. I'm not sure what it is and you knew this about me by now. It has long legs with speckles in the front. I could look it up on Google, but just don't know how to describe it!
If I have to guess, I think it's a juvenile robin, though not for sure! Robins to me are a little chubbier, but this adorable little bird is very slender. Some of my expert birders should be able to tell me, and I'm waiting to find out.

Big Black Bird

This is truly a black bird, from its beak to its tail. It was huge, at least twice the size of a regular bird and was followed by many other regular size birds. They were very noisy and flying around and about chasing after this big black bird.

The caught me by surprise while I was planting flowers in the garden, and got a couple of quick shot when this black bird took a short break from the others. Don't know what it was, but it was a real big black bird. Could it be crow?
