Pretty American Tree Sparrow

American Tree Sparrow
After the rain, this little copper top came by the feeder for food. He/she doesn't look like other sparrows but vividly stands out with that special marking on his head and by the eyes.

I looked him up on Google search, and through the description I found out he/she is an American Tree Sparrow: reddish or copper crown, black stripe by the eyes, and two white stripes on the wings.

He/she was wet, and patiently waited at the feeder for his/her turn. Best of all, he/she was a very willing model. Can you tell?

  13. Beautiful shots, though it is a the similar Chipping Sparrow, which has a black line through the eye while the American Tree Sparrow has a reddish brown line behind its eye as well as a usually prominent chest spot.
