Batman, The Dark Feathers

Front View of Dark Feathers Bird
My neighbor, the renter, moved out last month and left a horrible mess in the yard. The owner had to hire a landscape company to fix up around his home; so after the workers left, I saw a flock of these dark feather birds on my driveway. They looked like Batman to me through my window for some reasons, and I have never seen them before either.

Side View
At first glance, this bird looked like sparrow, but when I saw the black outfit with black mask on its face, I know it was not. When it flapped the wings, it looked just like Batman, in a smaller portion :-) This flock of bird only appeared on that day, and now gone.

Back View of Dark Feathers
Do you know what it is? Or is it just a sparrow and I dream of Batman? Not to worry, I am still sane, for now that is! Nature always amazes me and has me wonder...Enjoy your weekend!

Isn't this a dark-eyed junco? Not sure. They are so pretty in the snow, I remember.

Being able to take photos of a bird is a blessing. Keep your heart light.

So would I, Judy!
I'm glad my neighbor hired them to clean up and chopped down some tree that took over my driveway.

I would agree with Marie, I think it's a dark-eyed junco. We only get them at my feeders during the winter time. Lovely little bird and your photos are great.

It is a Dark-eyed Junco. They breed in Canada and then migrate to southerly throughout the rest of North America for the winter months.
Delightful little birds.
