This is a dwarf bachelor's button flower, or cornflower, that came in a mixed of wild flowers box I bought at the Dollar Store early in Spring. I didn't know its name when I featured it on Beyond Wandering.
Scientifically, it is called Centaurea Cyanus, a mixed of cornflower and bachelor's button. (Notice, it's actually called Corn-flower, and not Cone-flower). The only reason I know its name is because I went down the list of names on the back of the box, and did a Google search.
Mini Bachelor's Button
The box of wild flowers mixed gave me this white color, pink, deep purple, blue, and lavender bachelor's button flower so far. It is an annual flower but self sows freely, grows in full sun area, and blooms in mid-summer to early fall.
I will definitely pick up another box or two when I see them!
