A Tiny Hover Fly On Cilantro Flowers

Cilantro Flowers

Cilantro is a herb that I tried to grow this summer, and all I got were these little beautiful white flowers. The little hover fly loved these and visited them all the time. The cilantro didn't grow well and just went straight into seeds.

Hover Fly Spreads Its Wings

Summer is over now, and the hover fly went away now. These lovely little white flowers were very small, and amazing to see. I would have been happier to have fresh cilantro to eat, but I have to sacrifice one for the other. Either way is just dandy!

The enlarging of the second image shows a wonderful macro of the fly's markings! Nice capture.

We both have tiny critters today. :)

Some herbs produce really pretty flowers. This must be one of them. You managed to get this at the right time. It's a great shot!

Even if you didn't get cilantro to eat, you did get some amazing shots from your gardening efforts. The little flowers are so pretty and the hover fly certainly seemed to enjoy them, Icy!

Interesting...I have no doubt that this fly is very welcome to land on your flowers as long as it stays there long enough for some good shots!

Pretty little flowers and great macros of the fly!

Wonderful shots of the Hover Fly on those delicate flowers. I grew Cilantro one summer and for some reason I don't recall mine having flowers.
